Frequently asked questions.

Should I renew my COE or change to another car?

There is no single answer for every car. It can depend on the renewal cost, your car’s age and condition, how long you intend to keep it and the cost of moving to another vehicle. PRM can help you talk through the options before you decide.

What is the difference between a 5-year and 10-year COE renewal?

For eligible cars, a 5-year renewal requires 50% of the applicable Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP), while a 10-year renewal requires the full PQP. For Category A and B cars, a 5-year COE renewal can only be done once, while a 10-year renewal can be renewed again later.

How is the cost of renewing my COE calculated?

COE renewal is based on the Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP) for your vehicle category. The PQP is calculated from the moving average of COE premiums over the previous three months of bidding exercises and changes monthly.

Can PRM help with my COE renewal?

Yes. Share your vehicle details and COE expiry with our team and we can help you understand the renewal options available and what to consider before proceeding.

COE rules and the Prevailing Quota Premium are set by the Land Transport Authority and change over time. Check onemotoring.lta.gov.sg for the current position, or ask us and we will go through it with you.
